Autistic Traits and Flourishing: The Role of Hope Mechanisms and Its Resources
This presentation presents some of the author's research on the links between autistic features, which form an individualised pattern, and various aspects of functioning and well-being in adults from the non-clinical population. These traits include: social difficulties, communication problems, manifestations of cognitive and/or behavioural rigidity, specific perception features with intense selective focus on details, and imagination deficits. The author shows the links between complex patterns of autistic functioning, individual autistic features, and personal resources related to the mechanisms of hope and its "pillars", and individual quality of life and activity understood as flourishing.
