Recent decade has presented as a global emergency that included many areas of concern and high level of stress. The purpose of the study was to measure student resilience as the ability to return to well-being despite impediments. The sample consisted of 263 elementary school students in grades 6-8 in south-eastern Poland (F=137, M=126). They completed the electronic version of the scale for measuring mental resilience (SPP-18), individually, after obtaining permission from principals of randomly selected schools, as well as the consent of parents to participate in the study. The level of resilience of the students was in the range of elevated scores (62-80% in all items). There was no significant variation across the four dimensions of resilience: optimism, perseverance, openness, tolerance. There was a slight gender difference in the results but only one factor of resilience (perseverance) was on the border of statistical significance; the other differences were non-significant. The students showed flexibility and tolerance to the difficulties caused by the stress of life. Their resilience can be perceived as an important characteristic of youth and may also indicate the effectiveness of the support given to them by their teachers and parents. Due to many dynamic circumstances the students' mental resilience requires regular monitoring because it gives the information of their well-being.
