Abstract: The paper will discuss the anthropological foundations of an upbringing open to religion (as upbringing for religiosity and religious). A philosophical analysis of human religiosity will be presented in the aspect of the read value of man (a personal, social being, with a permanent nature) and the development of man (a materialised, rational and free being). The emphasis will be on the reading of the ontic rationale of human religiosity. I will try to explain that man is by nature open to God, that his religiosity must be considered in relation to the psycho-physical and social nature of man. I will try to define the relationship between the development of human religiosity and human moral excellence. For this question, the following issues will be important: man's capacity to know the objective moral order, human freedom and the moral faculties to which religiosity belongs. I will point to the pedagogically relevant relationship of holiness to other humanistic values: truth, goodness and beauty.
