This research looks for the character strengths of gifted adults, if they differ from adults with an average intelligence quotient (IQ) and if these can make a difference in perceived occupational well-being. It also tries to find out if there is a difference due to gender and role in both groups. These are relevant questions given that the individual differences, in addition to organizational factors, influence well-being at work. The literature has not dealt with them so far. Curiosity is the main strength in the group of gifted adults, which makes an important difference between the two groups. However, it is not correlated with occupational well-being in the group of gifted adults.
Positive psychology has been interested in occupational well-being. However, there is no specific academic literature about adults with high IQ. For this reason, it has been considered appropriate to carry out a psychoeducation study to raise awareness and verify the benefits of practices such as the use of character strengths and mindfulness in a group of adults with high IQ. Indeed, the result obtained shows that the practice of both techniques has an impact on an improvement in occupational well-being. It is, in short, advisable to introduce well-being practices at work among this group.
